Who are
The Star Horses?
And what's my relationship to them?
Who are The Star Horses?
The Star Horses are a unique group of horses who live on the beaches and behind the dunes in and around Corolla, North Carolina, USA. They eat only sea oats, and cannot digest apples, carrots, or any of the other treats other horses enjoy. Feeding these kinds to of foods to them (or anything at all) will kill them. They are said to have descended from Spanish Mustangs, although there is no specific proof of exactly where they came from. That's why I wanted to communicate with them, to literally "hear it straight from the horse's mouth."

They are protected by the Corolla Wild Horses Protection Act and Wild Horse Ordinance of Currituck County , which states it is illegal to feed or be within 50 feet of the horses.

(I took the pictures of the horses during a tour in May of 2019. They may not be used or reproduced without permission.)
What's my relationship to the Star Horses?
During the summer of 2019, I worked in the office at Wild Horse Adventure Tours, where tour guides take guests out on the beaches to view the horses from a safe distance. I took reservations, rang up gift shop goodies, and helped load our excited guests into the custom 15 - seat Hummers. I got to go out on 2 tours , so that I could know what they were experiencing. It was exhilarating!

Often our guests would ask where the horses came from, but no one had a definitive answer. All we knew was that they had Spanish Mustang DNA, but how did they get there? Spain is a long way from North Carolina!

That's when I decided to use Intuitive Interspecies Communication to ask the horses themselves, and the answer I got was so delightful, I wrote a book about it! I connected with Jacko, the herd's oversoul, and it took an hour and a half to get the Star Horses' story. At the end, Jacko asked me to share their story and messages for Humanity, so that's what I did. I put their story into the format of a children's book

Where can you learn more?
The Star Horses (in the physical) are looked after by The Corolla Wild Horse Fund (CWHF), whose mission it is " To protect, conserve, and responsibly manage the herd of Corolla wild horses (Bankers) roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks, and to promote the continued preservation of this land as a permanent sanctuary for horses designated as the State Horse and defined as a cultural treasure by the state of North Carolina."

I am in no way affiliated with the CWHF, but I do appreciate their efforts to protect my magical friends and the lands they call Home. There are articles, videos, and other resources to educate on how to keep these magnificent beings safe and happy.
